Four generations
of history
1880
Landed in Valle de Uco
Don Hector Meli crossed the Tunuyán River on horseback to purchase 2,000 hectares of land in San José de Tupungato and establish the Estancia Meli there.
1909
Construction of one of the first wineries in Tupungato
Builds one of the first wineries in Valle de Uco, made with adobe (bricks of clay and straw).
1950
Construction of a mill that generated electricity for the winery.
In the mid-20th century, he built a mill that generated electricity for the winery and the family chalet. More than half a century of self-sufficient electricity!
1954
Construction of the new and current winery.
The new winery is built, made of reinforced concrete and bricks—typical constructions of the time.
2010
Technological upgrade of the winery
The harvest and crushing room, cooling system, and switch to stainless steel, among other improvements, are enhanced.
2013
Development of the export market
Gerardo Meli takes his first steps in foreign trade, working alongside Pro-Mendoza and increasingly adapting the winery toward this goal.
2019
Validation of the sustainability policy. Solar Plant - Certifications
The commitment to sustainability and quality begins to consolidate by installing a solar plant and certifying various standards.
2022-2024
Development and launch of OUR BRANDS
Together with the Martin Brothers, we launched the brands Vale Cuatro and Bajo Piedra to the market, with a local presence in Europe.
